This is a parent and child programme for children aged from 2 to 5 years, which runs concurrently with the Oak programme.

Following the cycle of the seasons, young children's natural connection with nature will be nurtured through lots of fun activities including songs, games, crafts using natural materials and free play.

Open ended activities are offered taking consideration of children's developmental stages and interests, providing a natural space for curiosity, wonder and creativity. This is an environment where children can learn social skills, explore their natural surroundings and experiment with their physical capabilities while having the security of a parent close by.

The Acorn programme is led by Forest School Leader, Heather McHugh, BA (Hons) Early Childhood Education and Care.

Acorn sessions have been temporarily halted due to Covid 19. Please check back for future sessions or contact us to be added to the mailing list.
