Adult Nature Connection Spring Programme
Have you ever wondered what children do all day at Forest School? Ever felt envious listening to their tales of delicious food cooked over the fire or wanted to have a go at carving your own walking stick?
In 2022 we are delighted to offer you an all adults 'Forest School' programme of five Saturdays from February to June (one per month), of crafting, tracking, foraging, cooking, story telling, connecting with the land and with each other, playing, and being still in nature. It can be a source of ideas to take home and do with your children, but more importantly, time out in nature for yourself. We will keep the group small so everyone gets the maximum benefit from their time.
Provisional dates: Feb 26th, March 27th, April 23rd, May 21st, June 12th (all Saturdays apart from the March one and the June one which are Sundays)
Times: 11am to 3pm
Locations: Each session will be in a different location around the east Wicklow area. These are sites we use regularly and are easily accessible by car. We can help to arrange lifts or carpooling if needed.
What: The programme will include spending some time on basic bushcraft skills such as fire lighting, knife skills and foraging. We will hone our naturalist skills including plant ID, tracking and animal behaviour. We will explore our connection to the land and to each other in a playful way, through games, stories and crafts. We will use all of our senses for deep nature connection practices. The Elderflower programme is an opportunity to step away from your usual routine, to relax, breathe and learn something new surrounded by beautiful Wicklow woodlands.
Rates: €220 for the full programme. In order to get the most from the experience we are offering this as a full programme of five sessions. (We don't want to exclude anyone based on their financial situation. If you need to discuss reduced rates or paying in installments please email us confidentially at firstname.lastname@example.org)
Registration: Registration is currently closed for Spring. Look out for details of our Autum Elderberry programme, coming soon!
Programmes are run by Marc Barker and Amber Godwin, both fully qualified and experienced Forest School leaders.
